Homo Another Reason to Root for the Bears

Y’all:
No, that subject heading is not a mistake: there’s Super Bowl news that involves those pesky gays who keep getting into everything.
As the freakin’ geniuses at Deadspin.com have pointed out, Indianapolis head coach Tony Dungy, a good Christian, supports the not-so-good Christians at the Indiana Family Institute, one of the rabidly anti-gay outfits in the state that likes to call itself the the crossroads of America, but which I think of as the home of the modern Ku Klux Klan.
Of course, this might blow up in Bears fans’ faces: Lovie Smith is a good friend of Dungy, and like him, a Christian. Who knows what homophobic affiliations might lurk in his closet. But till we know for sure that both coaches are homophobes, we should all root for the Bears.
I don't think the NFL, or pro sports in general are going to be very furtile grounds for gay-tolerence/acceptance. Except, perhaps, womens tennis.
Pretty quiet here in the comments thread for this Super Bowl post. It looks like no one out there cares about the Super Bowl now that our beloved Seagulls have been eliminated. And it could be decades before we care again.

Nelson -- though I loved the guy because he could throw the ball like a frisbee, he sadly turned into the very hittable dickhole who started a fight with a Red Sox groundskeeper in which Nelson was witnessed, among other things "flaring his legs".
Weaver, we need you. I mean, I'm sure you took a look at our roster. Just be sour and nasty like last year and show these kids here how to get it going.
OK Chicago Fan, dammit, I'm going with your guys on Sunday. I've never been a Manning fan, and I like how Grossman talks with his hands like they're partially full of overflowed feelings that don't get explained all the way in the words, and can win big games when everyone's top-tanking him because that's the most perfectest kind of statistical-type story for the bored and lame media to raise up as the next possibly leaden, possibly golden calf. Only the actual playing of the game itself will reveal the answers to all of these questions posed by the media. Imagine that.
CF, may the Bears prove God's most obsequious of teams wrong! Bears disappoint Heaven with win over the extremely devout Colts! A rich lesson that would be indeed.
