I know teams early in the season try to find their groove and play rusty and all, but close calls against the likes of Pepperdine and N.Iowa don't bode well for the 2006-2007 Huskies.
Also, an error in the post: the Bosox paid $51.1 MILLION to talk to Matsuzaka, which BTW is completely insane money to spend just to talk with somebody.
Gomez -- That's why I love the Devil Rays, Marlins, Royals, Twins, etc., even the A's. Home-grown(ish) and tight-knit. You *need* to be a team to win on those teams. Not just a singer with a back-up band. I love the Sox, but hate seeing them go down Money Ball road. Sickening. A league of haves and have-nots.
Yeah, it's tragic the way the Yankees have bought the World Series title every year this decade.
And the Repubs victory in Iraq.
