Except when she said “lockbox.”
Awesome. The extended metaphor of the reality game wasn't necessary, though.
Although, every time I hear politicians go on about Americans who work hard and earn their own money, playing by the rules and teaching their kids the value of a honest day's work, I feel kind of left out.
Not every voter works hard or works during every single hour that we cash our paychecks for. Some voters teach our kids that work is for the birds. Especially the hard kind. It's like, a tradition of values passed down through generations. I know they want my vote but they have a funny way of showing it.
Finally! Someone in the government who acknowledges that a class war exists! I feel so... so... reaffirmed!
I am a proud lazy American.
Call your congressman and tell them to co-sponsor her bill!
Tone down the jazz hands, lady!
She's a firecracker! :-)
I liked her tone.
Can we please elect her as Vice President?
I thought it was a rousing speech.
But.... all just for a "commission"?
Where were the reforms?
I'm just lazy.
@9 - you're not just lazy, you're a Socialist, John.
We're all socialists now...
Er, scratch that, we're inverse socialists...
or, perhaps more accurately, asocialists?
"Real reform now or nothing."
What? Tough talk in Congress? I'm elated!
She's from Toledo, and cannot see Russia from her outhouse. Therefore, Rep. Kaptur is toast when the Rapture hits us in a few weeks.
She borrowed that "privatizing gains and socializing losses" from the woman who was interviewed on "Fresh Air" yesterday - or vice versa. I'm not complaining - it's a good line and it's the truth.
Terrific speech, and the interview was terrific, too. If you didn't hear it, I'd encourage you to find it at NPR's website.
We are ALL National Socialists now!!
Privatize the profits and socialize the losses!!! And let's definately get on to privatizing Social Security!!
I'm confused . . . who is this "Mr. Speaker"? I thought Nancy Pelosi was Speaker?
Pelosi is the Speaker of the House. Different members of the Majority party take over the day-to-day tasks of the House Floor, and that individual is called the Speaker as well, think of it as "Speaker for a day"
The same thing happens in the Senate, the Senator that presides over the business on the floor, the Senate President, is called Mr/Madame President.
She nailed it. Fucking thieves.
I love what she says around 2:45
this poor lady has not a clue. try this;
"Mr Speaker, beam me up!"
Yep! I will be dancing in the steets when I see some of these wizards of wall street in shackels being waltzed into the pokey, but sadly I don't ever think this kind of justice will be seen in America! We know if mccain gets in he'll just pardon all the culprits.
