The Stranger Suggests
mea culpa
Scott McClellan at Town Hall
As White House press secretary, Scott McClellan peddled lines that he now says were part of a "propaganda campaign"—you know, lines about little things like the war in Iraq and the Valerie Plame spy-outing scandal. Pity that McClellan is only now copping to his role as a useful idiot for the Bush administration, but better late than never. One hopes that after reading from his new mea culpa memoir, he answers audience questions honestly. For a change. (Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave, 652-4255, brownpapertickets.com. 7:30 pm, $5.) I think the key phrase when dealing with any of the Red Bushies from the White House and their comrades in the Grand Old Politburo is ...
"Don't trust, but verify. And then realize you're still being lied to."
no one should go.
