onDamn—now who I am gonna support?
Stephen Colbert has dropped his bid for the White House. His announcement came after the South Carolina Democratic Executive Council voted last week to keep the host of “The Colbert Report” off the state’s primary ballot. The vote was 13-3….
“Although I lost by the slimmest margin in presidential election history—only 10 votes—I have chosen not to put the country through another agonizing Supreme Court battle,” Colbert said Monday in a statement. “It is time for this nation to heal.”
Hm… maybe I’ll throw my support to Fred Thompson. He’s a Republican, sure, but he does have a convicted cocaine dealer on his campaign staff.

Dan,
During the whole Bellevue crane fiasco, weren't you ranting about the whole druggies-deserve-a-clean-slate thing?
Not that I'd be surprised if Thompson was a stinking hypocrite on this...
Colbert SHOULD put us through another Supreme Court challenge over this issue.
Too bad, since the writers are on strike now, this might have provided some filler for his show until it's resolved.
Are you sure this isn't a rerun?
Was this better than Morris the Cat? Y/N?
Well I guess you can continue to support your retarded Gore/Obama ticket you value & pimp so much.
Dan, we need to get Colbert to run, but in Florida where the primary is nothing more than a popularity contest. The DNC took away their delegate votes for moving up the primary too early.
Colbert wasn't running to win- he was running to reach out to youth and register new voters as Democrats. South Carolina blew their chance, but Florida is critical for the general election and we need young voters.
I do watch the Daily Show, Mr. Poe. And other shows, so it's not like I'm not impacted. But my point was that much of TV feels like a rerun anyway.
I'm definitely voting for Geraldine Ferraro.
Not coincidentally, now that he's going to have to write his own material due to the WGA strike, he probably isn't going have as much time for "campaigning" and whatnot.
I think political campaigns are exempt from that, Comte.
He can't write his own material. He's a Guild member.
Oh come on. He quit BECAUSE he has no speechwriters for the time being. No self-respecting politician would run without a speechwriter.
@8
I wasn't talking to you, Will. Durrr.
