The British are Going! The British are Going! As Gordon Brown prepares to pull UK troops out of Iraq, Bushies express concern, let Brown know they would prefer Brits to stay in Iraq “another year or two.” Where’s your poodle when you need him?
Hillary and the Boys: Rivals lay into front-runner Clinton at latest Dem debate.

So tragic about the river dolphins, really.
Equally tragic that there are no vintage Broadway clips to watch this morning.
I know Mark--I've come to rely on those clips to get my day going.
Also--no comment at all about Barry Bonds? God Herself was so angry about the record being broken that he open the floodgates and flooded all our subways.
I love where Rosemary Hollis says "The British are doing everything to avoid embarrassing the Americans, while at the same time continuing the withdrawal."
Don't know about you but my face has been pretty red for a while now.
The flooded subway always makes for a great commute. I was there last month when the steam pipe broke.
my fear now is that I have eaten canned dolphin from China .... I need a priest.
I love dolphins, totally an intelligent mammal. The Chinese are killers.
and yes, the Navy has their language all mapped out. High security.
Ummm...the Yangtze River Dolphin is always being declared extinct.
This is like the 3rd time this year.
I gotta pair of Air Force Ones made from their hyde.
After watching the AFL-CIO debate last night I came to the conclusion that I hate moderators in the debates. Even when its cute Keith.
The candidates were discussing Obama's position about unilateral strike in Pakistan. That is a serious issue, an issue that the president has COMPLETE control over. But right when they really started to talk, not talk 'script', Keith was like "oh we have to move on..."
What did they move on to? A million questions about healthcare that each fucking candidate has already answered. And not only that, but no matter who the president it, he/she can't just magically wave the wand of healthcare. They'd have to get congress to agree.
I know that unilateral attacks on Pakistan are not "hot button" issues, but it just seems like total bullshit to cut off an actual debate, just to ask the same question 5 times in 5 different ways that was already answered in every previous debate.
Kucinich: 400 million for a stadium? Why not just buy the team?
"An intensive six-week search by an international team of marine biologists involving two boats that ploughed up and down the world's busiest river last December failed to find a single specimen."
Okay guys, that does it. Extinct.
Even if they'd found a handful, say ten or twenty, that's not enough genetic diversity for an intensive breeding program to repopulate the species. They'd get inbred and die out anyway.
In short, they were probably technically extinct long before they were literally extinct.
Hey Dan, going to the beach today? Best grab that umbrella.
So I find it really annoying that I got through the whole first page of the LA Times article about the debate and was unable to read the second until I registered. Soooo annoying.
At least if the evangelical types are busy saving the planet for Jesus, maybe they'll have less time and energy to try and control everyone's sex lives.
Re: the green evangelicals
While it's nice to see them (or at least the less rabid ones) take a non-insane position for once, for me this is just more dispiriting evidence of how they're seen as (are?) some all powerful bloc you must court if you want to to get anything done. Ugh. Nuts to powerful lobbies in all forms.
From the Green Evangelical article: "'I did sense this is one of these issues where the church could take leadership, like with civil rights,' said Northland's senior pastor, Joel C. Hunter."
WHAT THE FUCK?!
Why do christians try to do something "green"? Isn't global warming and pollution everywhere going to bring the rapture nearer? I thought they wanted to be closer to god.
Well, it might be depressing in some ways, but I'd rather evangelicals were saying 'we must force everyone into caring for the planet!' than 'global warming? Bush says it doesn't exist, and he never lies!'
