onThe researchers who announced pot may prevent Alzheimer’s must know the scientists behind this study…
People with mild cognitive impairment may slow their mental decline if they have up to one alcoholic drink a day, a new Italian study suggests. Those who were cognitively impaired at the start of the study and had up to one alcoholic drink a day, typically wine, developed dementia at a 85 percent slower rate than those with cognitive impairment who abstained, the researchers reported.
Exactly how moderate alcohol intake might help thinking is not known. But Solfrizzi speculated that alcohol might somehow help keep the brain’s blood vessels healthier. Some other research has found that alcohol increases the release of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which helps neurons communicate with each other.
Cheers! Stay tuned for news that cocaine makes you rich and meth helps you sleep.

Cocaine can make you President of the U.S. of A!
Italian scientists always say that wine is a big cure all. Preferably an Italian wine.
Well, didn't help my grandma. Maybe the pot would have.
Alzheimer's is my worst fear and I spend a great deal of time and effort avoiding things scientists tell me may cause Alzheimer's... nice to know I can relax and have a drink now.
(stay away from aluminum products, avoid feeling lonely, solve puzzles, and stay active!)
COngratulations! You have discovered the fatal flaw behind the media and those who jump to conclusions with studies!
If one drink is good 10 must be awesome. Off to the liquor cabinet and then to the pot stash!
@4,
No worries on the aluminum. They've scientifically disproven that one. We can use anti-perspirant deodorants again instead of plain deodorant. (Yay!) I have two grandparents with Alzheimer's and my memory has been terrible since day one, so I follow it pretty closely too.
avoiding concussions is a real good idea.
Probably all the acid I did in college has doomed me.
We're running a small commentary on the topic of how the media perceives the health benefits of alcohol:

You're right, Brendan @ 1 !!!
Let's not forget that!
HA!
thanks for the post, i needed a laugh.
I should point out that this is actual science. We're not sure if it's the improved blood flow to the brain, or other impacts. Please note it says 1 drink.
