I painted this 36-foot diameter peace sign on the roof of my house in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. It can be seen by passing aircraft and will eventually be visible in satellite images such as Google Earth and Microsoft VE.

Cool, I'll look for it in the summer next time I fly.

wow. that's really going to change people's minds. i suspect that W will fly over, see it, and instantly bring all the troops home.

brave move.

How'd he get his circle so symmetrical?

Posted by him | March 19, 2007 1:23 PM

such is the irrelevance of free speech in a fascist state.

Sweet. That's impressive - I'm with 3, how'd he get it so symmetrical?

Posted by switzerblog | March 19, 2007 1:27 PM

I'm guessing that he used the magic "radius tool" to make his circle symmetrical. Tie a string to a nail at the center of the roof. Tie a pencil to the other end of the string. Pull string taut and draw a big circle. Shorten string and repeat. Fill in the circle.

@6: Thank you for the idea/info. I was wondering, too. Now I feel a little stupid that I didn't think of it myself.

it's an old tick of the carpernter's trade.

but that looks like a metal roof. what, does he live in a wherehouse??

Posted by gorthok | March 19, 2007 2:26 PM

Maybe someone should paint one of those on the roof of the White House. That way GWB can see it every time he flies in or out on one of those helicopters.

This is great -- here are a few replies -- Christ - so hippie - and will change no minds, is obsolete and MY FUCKING GOD IN HEAVEN, the outdated peace sign????
Must be for the old people --- the scum masses --- the reds --- and who bothers to protest anymore - etc. ad nauseum.

Go for it, let the Peace Signs multiply across the city. I have a pendant with a leather strap somewhere.....

No one wants to know about your sex life, @11.

Posted by Will in Seattle | March 19, 2007 5:24 PM

My sex life would be a triple best seller,
suffer straight boy. #12

But I was trying to sound like Dan ...MY FUCKING GOD IN HEAVEN ... pretty close.

And a good phrase on the third round of the night..... oh, pardon, there goes my sex life again.

shit talkers is the perfect label

about the good works of others, sitting on their fetid asses, doing nothing except trying to pass as jaded experts on political activism

it is only evil neo colonial war after all, why bother

yawn, yawn, I am so cool tonight, time to abuse people on the internet, while I wonder what my life is good for

how about a personal statement for yourself against the evil of all mankind, war

you are a bunch of real simple sheeple - shit talkers indeed

remember George Bush loves you, passive, accepting and ready to be fleeced
