Israel has a right to attack Syria. We're lucky to have American bases in Iraq to stand behind Israel. This war will bring peace, it only takes strength and patience. Shalom.

And why Syria as peace-maker? It's the only non-fundie power-broker left in the region. Syria has some 'good graces' points to gain by it, and the US doesn't have to deal with an explicit fundie arab country to get it taken care of. Who knows, though, maybe Egypt, but probably not.

Israel is the only peace maker in the region. It's a tough situation but we must all stand behind the only democracy willing to face down the islamo-fascists.

Fair point, except Nixon was actually a decorated Navy officer in WWII and stayed behind closed doors at the White House when he cussed like a sailor. Bush is an AWOL chickenhawk who gets overheard by live TV mics and cusses like a frat boy.

Israel is by no means "the only peacemaker in the region". Any party who willfully targets and kills innocent civilians can not be considered a peacemaker. It's the same story in Lebanon and Palestine as it is in the US and in Israel: poor, uneducated people elect faith-based terrorists to lead them, and everyone calls it democracy. Then when the elected leaders commit terrorism, and retaliation for this terrorism is made, everyone blames the terrorist who isn't the one their countrymen elected.

At first I was pleased to find out that Bush knows what irony is, but in reading what he said, it's actually not clear why that's ironic. . . :sigh:
