Can't get over the ticker with the question "who won the debate?" with McCain getting 86% of the votes! LOL

Nothing in the world is powerful enough to shut Hannity up.

The Hi-Spot hasn't gone anywhere. Joel Connelly could have written "closed for the day."

A shockingly sympathetic portrait of Ayers from a man who routinely skewers the socalled "loony left."

Did Connelly, the man who routinely dismisses anyone who criticizes corporate liberals out of hand with ad-hominem attacks, really write that "circumstances don't matter in wing nuts' land of guilt-by-association"??

By the way Axlerod is wrong and engaging in spin to try to minimize a real issue Obama has always tried to transcend rather than overcome. Racism will have an effect on this election. But Obama might win anyway.

"The Obama campaign would do well to print signs to post prominently in all its offices: ALWAYS SUBTRACT SEVEN PERCENT!"

The new steam plant begs the question: why hasn't anybody bothered to do this before? Waste wood is really cheap, you can sell the ash, and it looks good from an environmental standpoint. It seems like this should have been in the works 10-15 years ago, if not earlier.

Love it. Fuck Sean Hannity. He needs to be beaten with a sack of horse manure.

man, i hate to admit it, but i actually like colmes i just wish he had more of a spine and would realize that his co-host is an extreme right wing fascist and round house punch hannity right on the ear and put him out cold.

It would be a divine gift to humanity if Sean Hannity's tongue falls out of his head. It took Colmes' drug haze to wear off, but he did finally jump in. To those who are getting rabid over the Ayers thing - two words: Keating Five. Oh, three more: Alaska Secessionist Party.
McCain wins debate =86%?! Faux News and its viewers are so delusional.

With regards to Connelly: that's one hell of a stretch to compare Madrona with Chicago's Hyde Park.

Isn't wood burning spectacularly inefficient and greenhouse gas emitting?

Posted by Fnarf | October 8, 2008 11:29 AM
16

Fnarf, wood burning is carbon neutral if the cut wood is replaced with new trees over time, which is usually the case. Demand for firewood is not what's causing deforestation--logging for timber and to clear land for farming is.

The carbon released from the trees is reabsorbed when new trees use the CO2 in photosynthesis. It's a sustainable cycle that occurs in increments of years or decades at most, unlike petroleum which takes millions of years to form.
