Books Reading Today

onThere’s one open mic and one reading. David Macauley, who wrote The Way Things Work, which is a great book for children that shows how machines operate, is in town with his new book The Way We Work. It’s a cleverly illustrated guide for children about how bodies operate. I love this book. It’s intended for children to understand it, but there are lots of things adults can learn, too.
And in self-important news: Starting today, I’m going on vacation until next Monday. I will be in the wilds of Maine and unable to use a computer or cell phone, so I won’t be on Slog for a week. Some of you can begin celebrating now. All of you, have a good week.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.

Paul, that's a shame. You're going to miss Celine Dion on Saturday.
The wilds of Maine, hunting the wild lobster in its native habitat.
Ah ... brings back memories - bring butter.
this may be the only time I get to say this all year, so, by gosh, I'm going to.
RAMS WIN! RAMS WIN! (with your former fg kicker. holla.)

Lobster shacks sound great to me.
