“Only in Amerca”

posted by on October 19 at 14:10 PM

That song is another Obama rally standard, and it’s playing here at Cheney Stadium while we wait for more of the warm-up speakers to show up. But it reminds me: On the drive down, I passed a huge electronic reader board, somewhere close to Tacoma, that read:

Voting for Obama?

We need change in Olympia, too.

Vote for Dino Rossi.

Speaking of tactics that have Washington liberals on edge, and what those liberals are doing about said tactics: Congressman Norm Dicks just finished speaking, and during his speech he seemed to confirm something I’d supsected. He said Pierce County is the “central battleground” in the governor’s race. Which, to me, goes some way toward confirming what the Obama campaign won’t say—that Gov. Christine Gregoire is the reason Biden’s here today.

Ack! Today is not my day for correct spellings. Thanks, Jube.

Ah the entertainment a Dina Martina administration would bring! Change it back, change it back, Eli!

In a Monster/Cornball adminstration, all Amercans (sic) would be forced to use their middle initial whenever they sign their names.

Bring it on!

If Pierce County is the Central Battleground in the Governor's race, how come I have yet to have any contact at all with anybody from either campaign. Shouldn't they be out door belling or something?

Pat: more than likely they have you tagged as someone they don't need to worry about. They probably know enough about your voting record either one way or the other to have deemed you a low priority.

I, for example, NEVER get phone calls reminding me to vote, nor do I get calls urging me to vote for a certain candidate. I've voted in every election, donated to several Democratic campaigns, and they've written me off as in the bag for the Ds. They know they don't have to waste valuable resources on me. Trust me on this: I've been a campaign volunteer enough to have learned how scientific they get.

Here's an idea. Express your outrage at the local dems and desire for change by voting for Gregoire for governor and Ms McCaw for Lt. Governor. Not only would it send a message without creating environmental havock, but it would create four years of humorous cat-fighting between the two of them.

Eli, the bill board is in fife, and I think is owned by one of the local RV dealers. He's a pretty big righty. I used to debate, and drive up and down 1-5 all the time in the weekend. It had some great stuff on it in the 2004 election season.

Obama and Rossi gets my vote. Gregoire hasn't done crap for this state since she stole the last election.

Bye bye Christine.

Reality Check - spoken like a true tool for the BIAW.

And, for the record, I like the fact that Gregoire hasn't shitted all over state like Rossi would try to do.
