Christian Jankowski’s The Hunt (1992/1997), single-channel video, 1 minute 11 seconds

At the ICA Boston.

For this piece, the German artist ate only what he could shoot an arrow into at grocery stores. When I saw the video in Boston recently, a group of older women also happened to be watching it. One of them immediately said, with some concern, “What did he do for juice??”

So, is the arrow a litmus test for purchasability, or is it just his way of laying claim to stuff? What happens when he shoots watermelons in a barrel and nails like five of them?

Vegetables in Europe actually look like vegetables and not plastic. Amazing.

This was done in a German film a while back. "Viktor Vogel - Commercial Man" was its American title.

I liked the movie a lot. So I'm mad that this guy stole Rosa's idea.
