2008 A Story I Will Definitely Read When I’m Not So Busy Blogging and Reading Blogs

on“Why I Blog,” by Andrew Sullivan.
However! The ten-or-so minute video interview version takes only ten minutes (or so), and includes discussion of the blogging vs. thinking divide, the “Bataan Death March” of campaign trail coverage, the interns who help Sullivan keep his blog humming, and the “neurotic” nature of blog-readers (and why bloggy neurosis might be justified in these times).

You had me at ELO.
Is that ELO? Which song?
The song right at the top is Mr. Blue Sky, off of "Out of the Blue." Not their greatest album in my opinion, but it's got a couple ridiculously catchy tunes, including this one.
Sullivan reads as a thoughtful, iconoclastic and truly revolutionary thinker, but when he speaks he comes across as a boorish know-it-all who lacks the grace the shut the fuck up for 15 seconds while someone else finishes a sentence.
At least that's how he was on Bill Maher's show a few weeks ago, and I promised I'd never again spoil the pleasure of reading him by listening to him again.
