The Stranger Election Control Board (SECB) is meeting with Gov. Christine Gregoire in a few minutes. Any suggestions about what we should ask her? Leave ‘em in the comments.

What the heck is happening with the viaduct? What plan does she support?

The Basic Education Finance Taskforce chaired by Dan Grimm seems poised to make recommendations that would require more spending by the state. With a $2.5 billion dollar hole projected, that's going to be hard, but it will get even harder if the courts force more spending vis-a-vis the lawsuit being heard in 2009.

So I'd like to know what her vision is for schools here in Washington, and how she intends to pay for it.

With driving on the wane, do you support building a new highway on Seattle's waterfront?

What amazing thing has she done in 4 years that sets her apart in a positive light from Dino Rossi that Eastern Washington loves her for?

Seriously, what HAS she done in the past 4 years?

In your second term, can we expect any leadership from the Governor's office on, you know, anything?

Ask her to comment on Dino Rossi's 520 bridge financing plan.

I expect Dom to rake her over the coals for her actions re: DOH recommended amounts for SB6032.

Also, um, hey, can we get some new bridges around here?

How much can she grovel to my dad for losing the Sonics? He voted for her last time, but now he's voting against every incumbent from the county level up.

Please ask her if she thinks its time the State got out of the retail liquor sales business.

Why do you keep saying WA is the 5th BEST state to do business, when it's actually now ranked 3rd? Will you re-print all of your brochures to correct this?

How can the governor both showcase Puget Sound recovery as her lead environmental initiative and refuse to kill development of the largest gravel mine in the country on Maury Island, in the midst of a state aquatic reserve?

Ask her if her if she will reduce the number of state workers and the average state worker pay in the next two years. I would love to see her publicly take such a couragous and necessary stand against her primary constituancy.

Why has the State of Washington recently sided with the Bush administration in the debate over operation of the federal dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers?

Is the 1% property tax cap really an accomplishment on her part or on the part of Tim Eyeman who only had i747 ruled unconstitutional because it was amending an obsolete law?

Ask her why Frank Chopp took money that was to be used by the convention center for capital improvement and upgrades and put it towards "afforable housing" and she didn't do anything about it. There is a certain irony in taking money that would help provide new jobs for low income people and spending it on so called affordable housing.

UW has been begging and begging for money from the Legislature for years, and eventually did this $2.5B campaign because the campus is woefully underfunded. Meanwhile, the Legislature decided that with the $2.5B in the bank UW doesn't need money, and instead is trying to foist an unfunded mandate of an Everett campus onto it. The Legislature accuses UW of ignoring undergraduate education while failing to fund enough seats in Seattle to handle the crush of undergrad applicants.

So, to the governor, I ask: Will you make higher education a priority in this administration? Will you get the Legislature to fund the necessary capital improvements on classroom buildings? And will you push the Legislature to increase capacity at UW and WSU?

Don't feel too bad @32; a lot of people were NEVER able to write off state sales taxes in the first place.

Oh, and for Gov. Gregoire: if you had Frank Chopp alone in a sound-proofed windowless room for five minutes, would you use the aluminum baseball bat, the battery-wired nipple-clamps, or the arse-eels?

How come you consistently let the Republicans frame any substantive policy debate, even when they're largely wrong on virutally every significant policy decision?

OR

How come you haven't grown a fucking backbone?

Really wish I had known about this in time to offer...

"Why doesn't your administration do a little investigation into election fraud in the 2004 election, especially in Snohomish County, where the evidence was OVERWHELMING? It's not too late to show that tens of thousands of votes were stolen for Rossi (and by extension, Bush). You SHOULD have done this in your first week in office, and it would have made your administration much more authoritative AND ALSO HELPED THE NATIONAL ELECTION REFORM MOVEMENT."

@24 "There is a certain irony in taking money that would help provide new jobs for low income people and spending it on so called affordable housing. "

Bellevue Ave, how many jobs downtown pay less than $34,000 per year?

OK, now how many downtown apartments are affordable (rent is less than 30% of income) to those job holders? How many are affordable for those with children?

Nonplussed (according to the dictionary definition)? Only because you're a fucking idiot sometimes, Bellevue Ave.

Hey wait, how was that money collected and what was the intended purpose of that money? you don't know anything about the situation and you certainly don't know why 60 million taken from the convention center is bad for the hotel industry which employs a lot of people here.

do you know how much convention business we lose because our convention center isn't large enough? do you know what that 60 mil could have done to help in that situation? do you know how much revenue the convention center helps generate?

get informed before you call me an idiot.
