2008 LiveBlogging the Democratic Debate
posted by February 21 at 11:15 AM
onTonight’s debate will be only the second time that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama get the one-on-one format. But man, how things have changed since their first one-on-one debate just before Super Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Back then the race seemed within the grasp of either candidate. Now, after ten straight wins for Obama since Super Tuseday, Clinton is in serious need of a very strong, and even game-changing, performance. Will it happen?
I’ll be liveblogging the debate as usual—and once again I’ll have the indispensable help of David Schmader, who is graciously going to power through his cold in order to help moderate your comments, process the drama, and generally make the world safe for Democracy.
Debate starts at 5 p.m. PST on CNN. It will be livestreamed, I’m sure, for those of you who will still be at work or who don’t have cable. See you then.

Looking forward to it!
Not to put too fine a point on it, but Obama's won ELEVEN contests since SuperDooperTuesday (he won the Democrats-at-Large Primary, which of course the Hilly/Billy camp will spin as unimportant)
Look forward do the liveblogging...
5 pm ... dang.
Hope we don't spin too fast for you ... I like to use the old rusty knife and wordcrafting skills to eviscerate my opponents sometimes ...
Aw. While everyone else gets to celebrate the bad bourgeoise (political) arts with the debates, I'm going to be celebrating bad bourgeoise (aesthetic) arts at an opening. Does anyone know if and where these things can be found on the internerd after the fact?
Expect a knee to the groin from the Hillary camp tonight.
internerd FTW
Does anyone know how to overcome the ever-increasing time lag that you get when you stream the debate on CNN's web site? I can tell by the narration that the TV version is about 30 seconds ahead of the web. Which means commentary from web users is always too late to make much sense.
@ Andy Niable, yes everything that Hillary has lost is unimportant but as soon as she wins something they will spin that it changed EVERYTHING. I can hardly wait until she looses Texas and Ohio how they are going to rely on the South Dakota Primary to boost their chances.....
The Spitfire will be showing it live and will T-vo it for anyone who wants to watch the replay-
Thanks mandy, Spitfire FTW!
What does ftw stand for? I thought it was f**k the world. I'm now questioning that thought.
Poltroon and I will be at Spitfire at 5.

For The Win
I was very open to either candidate tonight. After watching the debate my impression is that Hillary is better at inspiring a sense of security. She looks like she could handle the oval office and the pressure of a rapidly changing and hostile world better that Obama. However, they are both great. I'd love to see them both on the same ticket.
