LiveBlogging the Democratic Debate

posted by on January 31 at 17:30 PM

Hello. Schmader and I (and two bottles of wine) are here preparing to watch Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in their first one-on-one debate. As always, send us your comments through the liveblogging widget. This time you’ll have to impress Schmader with your insights and wit—a much higher bar than impressing me, to be sure. If he decides they’re worthy, he’ll drop them into the liveblog in progress.

What is a link to watch the telecast online?

Is it on MSNBC?

Thanks

It's on CNN.

You can click to toggle sound on, but then you miss the frosty looks.

Can't you run this fucking liveblog plug-in behind a jump? It sucks hella CPU on initiation, and I just want to read the rest of the page.

On second glance, it sucks a fair amount of CPU for the duration of its instantiation. 100% at startup, 30-50% while running.

I loved it when Sara said "It's so crazy, it just might work!"

Sara for president, Firefox for VP!

Thanks Eli and Schmader. That was a great read even after the debate was long over.

Firefox here too, it crashed Firefox, every time. I didn't want to read the live blog, but it basically blocked me from reading slog the whole time it was on. Do you have any idea how FU'd it has to be to crash Firefox?

Nasty little tool you ran there, find a better one.

Couldn't even pull up slog with that thing running, last night. Crashed MS InternetExploiter. Repeatedly.

I've reported you to Redmond. Expect a call.

Big Sven, I was using Firefox too. If you're not doing anything else on your computer while the Live Blog is active, you might not notice a problem, but multi-taskers suffer big time from the CPU glut.
