2008 Race and the Presidential Race

onThere’s a long, interesting article up at The Politico right now that catalogs a series of comments by Hillary and Bill Clinton that are “spurring a racial backlash.”
The comments, which ranged from the New York senator appearing to diminish the role of Martin Luther King Jr. in the civil rights movement — an aide later said she misspoke — to Bill Clinton dismissing Sen. Barack Obama’s image in the media as a “fairy tale” — generated outrage on black radio, black blogs and cable television. And now they’ve drawn the attention of prominent African-American politicians.
One of those politicians, a South Carolina Congressman, is now thinking of dropping his neutrality and endorsing Obama as a result. One of those black blogs responds, “Oh, Snap.” And one of the Clintons, Bill, was on Al Sharpton’s radio show this afternoon doing damage control.

"The Race is on"
Isn't that what you titled your feature? Did EVERYBODY miss that????????????
Can somebody please tell me now the hell WJC's "fairy tale" comment has *anything* to do with race? He would have said the EXACT same thing if it had been John Edwards!
I suspect that after Jesse Jackson Jr. brought up the race card against Clinton, Obama's team decided they had to manufacture a larger story to cover JJJr's comments.
Disappointing.
Wouldn't two months of Black versus Woman debate be great for this country?
I strongly favor whichever candidate finds a way to raise themselves above this storyline.
Lesson One: Don't use race-baiting tactics and not expect it to blow up in your face.
Lesson Two: Don't let your spouse talk while campaigning. Ever.
Lesson Three: If a former President, keep quiet where possible.
WiS@4- Which part of WJC's speech involved race-baiting tactics?
