Gil Kerlikowske on KUOW

posted by on June 28 at 9:02 AM

Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske is taking calls on KUOW’s Weekday right now. And here’s today’s fresh outrage

The Seattle police supervisor whose questionable judgment was singled out by internal investigators and the police chief as leading to a violent arrest outside a Capitol Hill nightclub in 2005 has been promoted, police officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The actions of Sgt. Gregory W. Sackman outside the War Room on the night of the arrest “threatened ‘the safety of the community … and fellow officers,’” wrote a police captain in charge of an internal investigation, and led to the arrest of Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes….

Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske promoted Sackman to lieutenant last week.

It’s time for Gil to go.

The number at KUOW: (206) 543-KUOW, or (800) 289-KUOW.

I wonder where Sackman's killed more people -- the streets of Kabul or the streets of Seattle? Brown people beware!

The SPD makes me sick, film at 11. I don't care how good the rest of the department is: when the Chief not only gives free passes to his racist, immoral cops, but promotes them, it's clear he can't be trusted and thus the PD can't be trusted.

Fire him now.

Promoted?

Now that IS too much.

This 'promotion' sounds like a desk job to me. They want to get this menace off the streets.

Of course, they should fire him, but at least he won't be beating up people outside clubs anymore.
