News The Party at Spitfire
posted by March 13 at 22:05 PM
onThe party here at Spitfire is significantly more laid back. People are hanging around, drinking martinis, and the atmosphere is thoroughly jovial. It’s less crowded, creepy Jean Godden isn’t here, and everyone is celebrating their win.
We appear to be the only press here. Peter Steinbrueck is talking to a young woman who, rumor has it, was violently pushed out of the way by Jan Drago at the last party. Apparently Drago was stampeding along to meet a friend. Watch out!
The TVs aren’t playing the results when we walk in, but at 10 they are switched to the news. At the time, I am interviewing Steinbrueck for a video we’ll have up tomorrow, and he’s on the TV in the background of his own interview. Someday, that will be a limited edition collectible YouTube video, I’m telling ya!
I’m putting this picture in again because I like it.

Creepy Jean Godden? Ari, clearly you need a mirror.
Ouch.
dismissing jean godden as "creepy" is juvenile, disrespectful, and straight up unprofessional. jesus christ, ari, this isn't line out.
Does Peter Steinbrueck still have a nice ass?
Nickels did some great anti-tobacco work while on the King County Council when few people were willing to take these war criminals on.
But Nickels has reached that cliche plateau of the Peter Principle where he is over his head. Having the "Shark" build and move his machine does not create vision or leadership qualities (it only delays the day of reckoning-much like Rove's role).
Nickels needs to retire or get knocked out. Seattle deserves better-and the rest of the country is waiting as well.
Actually, I think I was the only person drinking a martini...definitely a beer/wine crowd, imo.
As for Jean Godden, I wish I was as active, alert, and physically fit as her at 75-years-old.
HA HA HA at Nickels. He lost is way and is truly suffering in Second Term Duldrums.
So who are we going to push to be the next mayor or Seattle? Nickels put WAY too much of his political capital on the tunnel/viaduct vote and he just may have made himself a lameduck.....
nickels is fat - or COULD HE BE A GENIUS?
how can you outmaneuver WSDOT & their submissive, Christine, unless you advocate a freeway, too? perhaps Nickels & Ceis knew that seattle was too scandinavian to pony up for a big dig, but knew the key was to take a rebuild off the table...
but let's look at the history:
1. we voted no on a stadium - we got that.
2. we voted yes on a monorail - we didn't get it.
3. we vote no & no on the waterfront - looks like we'll be getting a bid dit & a rebuild.
That picture I took of Jean Godden is totally creepy. It's not her fault, but it is pretty awesome.
Way to set the bar high Ari. I'm sure you'll be a lot less creepy when you are her age. BTW Jean Godden could still drink you under the table.
What is it with you Stranger people lately? "Creepy"? That's second-grader, back-of-the-school-bus crap. Spiteful and cruel. It's not an effective way to get our point across or be taken seriously. Ari Spool, huh? How much fun could an 8-year-old have with that name? Gotta wonder.
"We appear to be the only press here."
Thanks for making my day - I think that statement is the funniest thing I've read in awhile. It's so cute how you guys consider yourself to be real "press."
Okay, "Godden=creepy" is out.
Can I still say "Pure=hot"?
Paulus- I demand that you do.
