Is that graphic even still used for the cover of the book? Hell, is that book still in print, for that matter?

You know, it's OK to branch out a bit when you want to illustrate your point with a dystopia— might I suggest Gor novels?

I recently bought A Handmaid's Tale with that cover.

Atwood is a big deal in Canada, so I am willing to bet it's still in print here.

Jessica, I think the point IS that Andersen is taking us to a Handmaid's Tale-esque future

I was just answering the first person's question about whether the book was still in print with that title. Yes, I get the point.

Actually, Jessica, what you were doing there was showing everyone that you recognized the book in question, except instead of doing so without naming the book or the author (as in the comment you were putatively replying to) you decided it would be much better to wreck the game for everyone else in the interest of brandishing your knowledge of a book that more than half of the regular commenters on SLOG have read, or are at least aware of.

Congratulations: you've read a book that most of your peers have read, and you're a party-pooper! To be you is fun!

Come back when you're ready to discuss Gor novels, plz.

Robotslave - I think you'd be surprised how few people have read that book.

Also, did Jessica ruin your fun by letting everyone who hasn't read it in on the secret?

Don't be such a douchebag!

Let's all hope robotslave was nursing some Bears defeat wounds.

Since reading [redacted] sometime in HS, I have kept cash in my house just in case.

Robotslave: Wow! You are so cool to suggest Gor for us! When I try to act like a pretentious asshole, I too reference obscure books as often as possible. We must be soul mates. And the way you spell "plz" is totally classy. I am so turned on. Let's roleplay. I'll be John Stewart and you can be Tucker Carlson, and basically everytime you say something (which, let's face it, isn't very funny anyway) I just call you a "dick." I love this game! Call me.
