Your Bodies, Your lips

posted by on January 5 at 14:59 PM

It’s inevitable. The US will have to start offering citizenship at the price of military service. Mexico prepare your sacrifices. We not only need your labor but your blood.

Speaking of blood. Cate Blanhcett’s blood-ripe lips can be seen and devoured this weekend in the atmospheric thriller Notes on a Scandal. Cate-Blanchett-1.jpg What is it we want out of this lady’s lips? Words, yes, lovely words: “lump,” “loose,” “lap,” “low,” “lift.” But also, and more physically, we want to bite them—the ripe skin bursts, the blood runs down a cheek, falls in drips from the face, hits the wall of a black bowl, and collects at its bottom into a warm pool that reflects the buzzing blaze of an electric light bulb hanging, swinging, above a coffin-thick table that crowds the back of a single room whose windows are clouded by the breath of too many years. The best lips in the world awaken the hunger of the vampire in us.

"The US will have to start offering citizenship at the price of military service."

Fool, where've you been? They're already doing this. Permanent residents can have their citizenship apps fly through if they join the slaughter in Iraq. They dont even have to wait the 5 years and if you get capped you can get your citizenship papers wrapped in a nice US flag. Plenty of Mexican and Central American citizens have already died in Iraq.

Cate Blanchet?

Nah man, its all about Shakira and for lips I'll take Angelina and for bod, Ill take Byonce any day of the week. Like Shorty in the autobiography of Malcom X, I guess you can never be a muslim cuz "you like white women and pigs feet too damn much."

byonce's body is extraordinary, no diggity; and i do love pigs feet, particularly the way my sister cooks them. as for cate, you are on to something if you accuse my desire of her english beauty to be directed by what fela kuti once called "colonial mentality." i'm not all the way free, brother seme.

Chas - Seme's right. Special naturalization provisions for aliens serving in the U.S. military date back
at least to the Civil War and special enactments have been made during every major conflict since that time, up to and including the Vietnam War.

As relates to THIS particular war, On
July 3, 2002, Bush announced
naturalization eligibility for active-duty U.S. military servicemembers.

About 69,300 foreign-born men and women serve in the U.S. armed forces, roughly 5 percent of the total active-duty force, according to the most recent data. Of those, 43 percent – 29,800 – are not U.S. citizens.

MY concern is that this will be used in the near future to do more raids (like the one in Dec. in Colorado), to detain immigrants and THEN offer this enticement to them. Would sure "take care" of the "problem" the administration has with lack of soldiers for our war(s).

I anticipate a similar strategy offered to people in jail/prison...just like we do now for people facing charges.

It ain't over folks just cuz we got the house and senate...mark my words.

Art, service doesn't mean citizenship for non-heterosexuals.
