Olympic Sculpture Park

(Grand Opening) When was the last time you scuffed your shoes victoriously on a former Superfund site and at the same time considered modern sculpture? (Hey, when that sculpture was being made, this land was being polluted!) In all seriousness: go. This is like an entire new museum. Free shuttles are leaving from several YMCAs; check the schedule at iamsamcampaign.org. (Olympic Sculpture Park, 2901 Western Ave, 654-3100. 11 am—9 pm, free.) JEN GRAVES

Why'd they have to make Calder's outrageously ugly "Eagle" visible from every fricking point in the park? Will someone please melt it down and use it for something that benefits humanity? K, Thx.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that the centerpiece of the Plop Art Park ("Eagle") was originally plopped in front of a bank in Fort Worth?

We're a classy city.

it was packed today. if this wasn't a rallying cry for a non-viaduct seattle...
several friends have also stated the neatest days downtown are when the viaduct is closed for inspections, and it's eerily quiet.
