Red States—What’s Left of ‘Em

It’s a beautiful sight

President Bush … has a positive job approval in just three of the 50 United States. This according to 50 separate but concurrent statewide public opinion polls conducted by SurveyUSA for its media clients across the country. Only residents of Utah, Wyoming and Idaho view the president favorably.

Remember my comment the last time you brought this map up: just because the nation hates the current president doesn't necessarily mean they like the Democrat alternative.

It's not such a beautiful sight if you're going to the University of Idaho next year.

What took them so long?

what the fuck were expecting going to U of I?

that's like going to Liberty University and not expecting a sermon from Jerry Falwell.

Does anyone know where I can get a t-shirt of that graphic? Seriously, I'd pay $100 for that t-shirt!

Isn't that where the 19 percent deadenders live?

Man, that would be a great t-shirt to give to Russ Feingold at the 43rd District Spring Party on Saturday night!

Remember, there are a significant number of people who disapprove of Bush because he isn't conservative enough.

true enough Kaley...and that may be the sweetest revenge possible. Personally, I don't care who provides the oil, just so long as it's boiling and chimpboy is in the pot.

What a pretty map, a meaningless map. The chart you need to keep your attention on is the yearly profits of the world's major oil companies. Political parties in America no longer matter.

Big oil and corporate interests can place a Democrat puppet in the White House just like they placed the Republican. But hey all you need to do is distribute liberal slogan t-shirts over the internet because having fun is important.

The only problem is your opponents idea of "having fun" is occupying countries with huge oil fields. That has a bit more impact that a few hundred t-shirts.

Okay, back to the topic at hand. Pick a Democrat worthy of consideration for presidential candidacy, any one: Hilary, Gore, shit, even Obama.

What's that person's approval rating in the states throughout the country? I betcha that rating's similarly low in at the very least half of the states, for any of the above.

So let's not use this post's factoid to declare preemptive victory just yet.

Boy its fun to see the puritans (of both stripes) with their fingers in their ears and their tongues going, "La La La La La La! I can't hear you!"

Yep, its true.. no real need to vote for democrats they have this one already won.

Truth is the media's polls said.. Kerry was suposta cream Bush, remember? There polls are always wrong including this one.

I can't help but think of all the Mormon communities running throughout those three states. BYU, anyone?

Dang! We're down to only three states with common sense.

What are the purple borders between the red and blue going to vote for. What are their political leanings.
And the big white patterns going through the center that spell reality.
Whats their politrix.
do they count them.

JD's take > Amber's take

Seriously, this does not indicate that whoever runs for the D's in 08 has it won. Public opinion was similarly sour for Bush when Kerry ran, and all the good it did him.

The Democrat candidate still has to prove he/she is worthy of the vote, whether or not the current prez is polling at 28%.

Better red than dead. (But what's the matter with Kansas?)

Isn't Idaho where all our Freedom Fries come from?
