onIt looks like the doodlings of a teenager who recently discovered LSD.
But it’s clearly inspired by these:
Jen Graves was more thoughtful about the work.

Eh, maybe you meant "inspired -by- these" ?
Thanks, Ivan.
The murals (and Slog) appeared here: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/real-estate/monique-lofts-and-mural-project-seattle-063843
Again, it's a pretty piece but ultimately says nothing at all. I consider it a massive missed opportunity. Imagine if they had had the balls to create something like this.
Dominic you are right on -- they remind me of a speedfreak's doodle book. All that's missing is a Van Halen logo...
MY GAWD!!!
I have been worried that someone else in the world would make the connection to LINCOLN and GETYYBURG and 1963 and that mural of OBAMA with a bullet shadow in his jaw...
your right... we might as well jump.
It seems to be getting larger.
like the white better
sure not Picasso or Harring
right on for the druggies, put some lights, colored, for the night
This is being done in chalk, right? It will wash off someday?
Wasn't that simpler, like, say, a couple of days ago? Why did they add all that ugly detail?
I So there.
And I'm not a druggie.
I love that they didn't cover up the old signage for the building.
I love that it's not a big blank cement wall anymore.
I love that it's not pushing some political campaign at me, I get enough of that as it is.
I love that it's not advertising anything, see above.
I love that if you do your research you might see why it's more meaningful than you might otherwise think.
I also love that we appreciate positive efforts...oh wait. I'm totally wrong. Nevermind.
Part of my message disappeared into the webosphere.

I love it.
So there.
And I'm not a druggie.
PS It does make me think of Superman's crystals, but I'm a nerd so I'm amused.

No, it doesn't. Your comment is just another version of the idiotic, "my kid could do that." I'm not defending this artwork, but if you want to denigrate it, you have to look at it a long time and really think about it. In the meantime, STFU.
