Thoughts in GW and BO's heads:
"Crap, we wore the same outfits!"

Hopefully Dubbya won't offer hand sanitizer this time...

I think Michelle Obama is taller than Bush. Awesome.

Laura got her dress at burlapandpotatosacks.com.

What was the purpose of Laura Bush again?

Michelle Obama seems uncomfortable. I'm sure the others are, too, she just isn't hiding it as well.

oh what a beautiful, beautiful picture.

...the right half anyway.

@8

I think you meant the left, didn't you? Literally and figuratively.

The only person the movie W made me like more was Laura Bush. She was actually kind of cool in the flick. I wonder if she's that chill in real life.

Nice dress, again. Am liking the red, red, red.

Hmmm, where will the kids go to school?
Public, private?

Charter?

That dress makes Michelle look like she's about 10 feet tall.

You know what's fun? Hearing about all of this transition stuff. I'm pretty sure in 2000 I just drank myself into oblivion to try and forget my troubles, so I missed it all...

I volunteer to drive one of the moving vans if we can just load them up NOW.

I like the wives being in the middle. It means Obama didn't have to wear a "I'm With Stupid" T-shirt, with the finger pointing, in order to distance himself from Dubya.

Out With the Old…

If this election demonstrated anything, it's that that ellipsis should be an exclamation point.

i can't wrap my head around this meeting. what could obama have possibly said to bush? i imagine it would be something like,

"so...uh, you pretty much sucked as president and i'm gonna reverse everything you did. will you get out of my house now?"

Michelle Obama is SMOKING HOT

Poor Laura Bush looks like she hasn't been fazed by anything at all since about 1978 or so. Brown, with that Dorothy Hamill hair? Dreary, poor thing, but I don't think she gives a rat's ass.

But what can you say about the Divine Michelle? She looks amazing here because she IS amazing. Tall, smart, and confident is a pretty good hand to play. And BLAMMO! anyway -- she just fucking pwns the color game, looking great in yellow, red, orange, blue, purple, black & white. Color-wise she hasn't made a misstep so far. She doesn't have the well-born prissiness of a Mrs. Kennedy or the Bonfire of the Vanities grossness of a Mrs. Reagan. She's set to be the most fashionable First Lady of our lifetimes.

Pardon my gush.

Only in America could we, in one election, go from our most shit-kicking president (Teddy and LBJ be damned) to this class act from Chicago. And Michelle seems to have a liking for Nancy-Reagan-Red dresses; and wears them well. Poor Laura seems already to be going for schoolmarm/librarian couture. Why not just complete the Nixon metaphor and get her a cloth coat and the Bush twins a puppy named "Checkers"?

George: God, I can't wait to get out of here. I thought this was going to be a cake walk, but this presidency thing has been a bitch. Heh, heh.

Laura: La di dah. More valium please.

Michelle: At least my tits don't sag half way to my waist.

Barrack: Just keep smiling, honey. They'll be gone soon.

looks like W spent the last four years under a tanning light - soon he'll claim he was the first president of color.

Egads. The only things Laura's outfit is missing are packaging tape and stamps.

The dress is lovely, and from what I can see in one of the NYT photos (as the two couples walk into the White House, Obama's hand on W's shoulder) her shoes really perfect the outfit.

Michelle looks like a million bucks.

@11: Word on the street in DC is that the kids will go to Sidwell Friends, the private school Chelsea went to.

So, will any of Laura's friends tell her that, now she's no longer in the public eye with such a doofus as George, she can wear some good foundation garments?

Seriously, it's about time we had some class in the White House, and Michelle knows how to bring it, and Obama is there too.

A concho belt would been nice on Michelle's dress. There needed to be some relief from all that red.

"As the Obamas were arriving at the White House, several hundred protesters on Pennsylvania Avenue chanted “No More Wars” as they waved signs condemning President Bush and Vice President Cheney."
