The horror! The horror!
My brother Ryan just called me to point out the guy in the black coat in the top picture is me, and the person who has their hand on my head has the other hand on his head. He says he was "Looking around for more abandoned beers to throw in the air. I'd never done that before."
What a magnificent, magnificent night, and what an awesome new situation. A good friend said to me this morning, "I guess everything ISN'T a lie".
Whiteness and blackness, Americanness, have had their meanings altered. America, perhaps, is arriving at its original meaning.
