You Can Still Register to Vote in Washington State!

posted by on October 17 at 13:48 PM

It may involve a trip to Renton, true, but you can, through Monday. Ask the people you know whether they’re registered—you might be surprised. Two Stranger staffers and one Stranger-staffer-little-brother were not current and good to go until they were badgered very recently. Info on registering in King County here; elsewhere in Washington here. Check your status (per Mr. Golob) here.

According to King County you don't have to go to Renton. It says they are holding a registration drive at Seattle City Hall tomorrow from noon to 4 PM (unless I read it wrong)

These people do not deserve to vote. Why are we spoon-feeding lazy, irresponsible pe...oh yeah. We're liberals.

Never mind...the info about the voter drive at City Hall was out-of-date. They don't make it easy at all.

Just FYI, you can call up King County Elections and they'll look to see if your registered, your status, and what address you're registered under. I just made sure my address change went through, took all of one minute for them to look me up and confirm. The page linked to in this post where you can check told me I wasn't registered, which scared the shit out of me, but a friendly Elections Office staffer set me straight.

You've got to be pretty Goddamn lazy if you haven't registered by now. Maybe we should make voter registration like Selective Service registration - do it or you go to prison.

@7 - yeah, but if you're a citizen, you can vote. So, the more the merrier.

Will, that made no sense at all. You wanna try it again?

Greg, there used to be a different @7 that said they were registered in two different states.
