I Can See Kabul From My House

posted by on October 5 at 21:06 PM

This just in

Three days after a mostly gaffe-free debate performance, the Alaska governor fumbled during a speech in which she praised U.S. soldiers for “fighting terrorism and protecting us and our democratic values”.

“They are also building schools for the Afghan children so that there is hope and opportunity in our neighboring country of Afghanistan,” she told several hundred supporters at a fundraising event in San Francisco.

Obama's Weathermen ties continue to plague him...as this early photo testifies:

Well, let's see...Afghanistan is not that far from Iraq and we own Iraq and it's right next to Pakistan and we'd like to own Pakistan someday. So yeah I can see how it's fair to call Afghanistan our neighbor.

Sarah is WAY in over her pretty little head. Dan, as her Gay friend you need to step in and help her. Catch her when she stumbles like that. Don't let her fall flat on her face...

Later I'll post a link to a great pic of me sucking my own cock!

@6: Don't try that... I might spread things around.

(Oh, and why am I attached to such a fucking idiot?)

Interesting Palin flub from Thursday's debate (referring to McCain):

"He's the man we need to leave... lead!"

damn. did Palin get her HS education in NW South Carolina along with Ms. Teen South Carolina because they both don't know they're geography when on stage.

Of course this brings to mind - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ0xySe0uRw

Yawn.

If you had a million reporters following you around recording everything you say, I bet there'd be all kinds of chestnuts to post on the internet as proof of what a moron you are.

Hey Dan, remember that time you said supporting Bush when he invaded Iraq was a good idea? Except, oh -- no. That's different. You actually meant to say that.

Of course, the other thing that's different is that Sarah Palin's running for Vice President of the United States. You're just an internationally syndicated columnist, TV personality, and editorial director of the largest free weekly between Vancouver BC and San Francisco, west to Denver. Surely nobody can expect consistency and accuracy from you.

Unlike, you know, Sarah Palin, who is clearly a key player in our national political dialogue.

I would welcome a debate between Dan Savage and Sarah Palin anyday, anytime. Dan is articulate, intelligent and does not need cueing, prompting or notecards to get through a discussion. Oh yeah and he is not afraid to answer questions.

@12 Dan Savage is a key player in our national political dialogue.

Another articulate, intelligent writer:

Did they rename Canada? Sarah brings it on herself with her hate and bigotry.

@6 Yay!

@12: No -- she's NOT a key player in our national political dialogue. Her appearance at all on the national stage is the result of an inept pandering attempt by the McCain camp. She's a shiny object meant to distract us from actual political dialogue.

This news item is no great revelation. Governor Palin misspoke, she's done it, Obama's done it, Dan's done it and I've done it. It's just a bit of schadenfreude for those of us who find her nomination repugnant not because she's a republican, but because those who nominated her seem to have such blatant disregard if not downright contempt for the people of this nation by putting this clown car on the ticket.

This seems like just a minor mis-speak. I was hoping for something much more dramatic... Like she didn't know what country Kabul was in or something.

Mr. Bailo, you are so funny.

The GOP has repeatedly subverted our constitution via the crimes of Nixon, Ollie North, arms for hostages, and the cherrypickingo f intell and torture we've seen recently. And hundreds and millions of folks support that, with whom you are associated. And it ws your party, I believe, who tried to subvert our constitution with the Clinton impeachment when lyign about a blow job isin't a high crime and misdemeanor. (It's a low crime -- duh--not about seizing levers of power, etc.) I believe under the GOP that several democratic govts. were overthrown by the USA including Iran, Chile and Gautemala. And you are associated with people associated with that. So you, sir are plagued by your associations with terrorists, murderers war criminals and crimes against humanity. Obviously you hate America and all that it stands for. Why? Becuase when our strongest ideals are challenged, you are among those whose first reaction is to surrender those ideals that make America great under a quick white flag of surrender.

Unity all y'all, except Bailo--

@12: HAHAHAHA. The only reason Palin is a "key player in our national political dialogue" is because she's such a fucking arrogant moron that we have no choice but to talk about her.

That's a verbal typo. She meant "in THE neighboring". Geeez, give the poor woman a break!

A whole Savage article devoted to a simple gaffe? Then how about one on Mr Obama's gaffe about having visited "all 57 states?"

Come on, this ain't talk radio. You can do better than this, Dan.

I would think it would be fairly effective to call Palin a light weight in the intellect department. She's even more shallow than Bush.

Gaffes like this aren't worth mentioning. Seriously, should we get into the laundry list every person in this election has made?

Sure it's a neighboring country. We bought the one practically next door, Iraq.

What exactly IS she doing in San Francisco? Obama is ahead in PA, Ohio, Fla, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc...
The Obama campaign is even in Omaha, for God's sake. Maybe it has something to do with the gay marriage amendment. If so, good luck, Sarah, you'll need it.

There's a reason why two-thirds of independent voters think Sarah Palin is totally unqualified to be President, which is what the VP's sole reason for being is ...
