posted by on October 31 at 13:35 PM

After Ayers, Ahmadinejad, socialism, celebrity, redistribution, naivete, and so much more, McCain returns to an old theme with his newest commercial, “Freedom.”

What's with having some other guy's voice at the end saying "McCain"? Can't he say his own name? I don't get it.

Or are they worried voters won't know who is speaking when he says "join me"?

We're so lucky he picked ImPalin.

I've noticed the voiceover on his ads never says "Palin" lately not even in "McCain-Palin." This doesn't suprise me. I'm actually surprised they haven't dropped her name completely from the graphics as well...

Sorry, Grampy, it's a little too late to get all warm and fuzzy after being the crazy mean gramps for the past 6 months.

By any rationale, McCain would have to do something by the end of today's news cycle that both completely undermines Obama and casts himself in a new light.

Obama is receiving an improbably late bump in the polls thanks to the Obamamercial and McCain is losing ground in several "leans McCain" states, including his own home state which would need to maintain a margin of +6 to avoid the MoE and rise above the 2-4pt home state dump most candidates receive.

Wait a second -- McCain was a POW? Why was I not informed? This changes everything.

He should have done these instead of his anti-obama old man rants. if he had, and then skiopped picking a vp, maybe this thing would be a horserace.

On the bright side this is the first non-negative campaign video I've seen from the McCain campaign in months if not maybe a year. Props to them for not being negative in the final throws, though I can't really say it's a positive message.

me? negative? I wouldn't think of it. I'm just a wounded vet trying to serve my country. oh yes, the sympathy wrapped in patriotism vote

If he'd released this ad a month ago, it *might* have helped him. Now it's a day late and a dollar short for Grampy McCain.

well if he has served since he was 17, he's served long enough. John, it's time for you to go sit by the beach and take it easy.

I thought the voice-over at the beginning was Bush's voice for awhile. Hm, that's interesting.
