Re: It Is Officially My Favorite Time of the Year
With all due respect to Ms. Seling and Mr. Nelson, the commenters who dissent in the post below are correct: Honeycrisp apples are too sweet. They taste like Starburst Fruit Chews.

What I love about apple season is honest-to-god, real pressed apple juice. Yum!
Posted by Carollani | September 10, 2008 1:05 PMWhat I love about apple season is that it heralds pumpkin season. Pumpkin lattes came out at Starbucks yesterday, and I'm so, so happy.
Posted by Aislinn | September 10, 2008 1:14 PMIf you take a miracle fruit tablet and taste a bite of a honeycrisp apple your tongue will literally explode.
It's a pretty good April Fool's gag.

I wish I could share your love of apples at all, we had a falling out on account of a vomitous experience with an apple poptart in middle school. It's never been the same.
Posted by Super Jesse | September 10, 2008 1:21 PM@2: way to make me break my Starbucks embargo. I love pumpkin lattes.
And Honeycrisps taste nothing like Starbust, they are far superior.
Posted by Jessica | September 10, 2008 1:24 PMAislinn, I'm so with you re: pumpkin lattes. They're the only thing besides being in an airport that draws me into a Starbucks. I kind of hate myself for it, but it's worth it.
Posted by Abby | September 10, 2008 1:26 PMMmmm I just got a Starbucks gift card from work the other day... now I have a reason to use it.
Posted by SDizzle | September 10, 2008 1:45 PMPumpkin lattes? Super Sugarcrisp apples? Y'all must be children. Gimme a Braeburn or a Fuji any day.
Posted by Fnarf | September 10, 2008 1:57 PMBraeburns and Fujis are also still too sweet
Cortlands FTW
Posted by Just Sayin' | September 10, 2008 2:02 PMI vote Galas. Maybe we should have a Slog poll?
Posted by Julie in Chicago | September 10, 2008 2:21 PMApple season holds no magic for me; oral allergy syndrome means I have to microwave all my fruit to heat it over 120 degrees. Takes all the fun out of it.
