2008 Losing Letterman

onThis gambit is not going well for McCain. Here’s Drudge’s description of tonight’s Letterman show:
David Letterman tells audience that McCain called him today to tell him he had to rush back to DC to deal with the economy. Then in the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, “Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?”
Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, “You don’t suspend your campaign. This doesn’t smell right. This isn’t the way a tested hero behaves.” And he joked: “I think someone’s putting something in his metamucil.”
“He can’t run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?”
“What are you going to do if you’re elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We’ve got a guy like that now!”

Wow...
I love you David Letterman
Thank Christ, little Taffy...
Hey, that bit that Letterman does about the Phil Donohue countdown calendar was like so funny....................oh yeah...that was in 1986. Not very funny after that.
Letterman was crappy from about 93 to 07
Something's happened...maybe it's the kid...but his show is about as enjoyable as it's ever been lately
Holy shit, I can't find the original image, but on the Salon front page right now there is a picture of McCain, credited to Reuters, which is very disturbing. If that's not the result of a stroke, or related malady, then I don't know what to think.
@7:
So you're saying he had an unfunny show for 14 years?? And he kept his job?
Guess David Letterman is too big to fail!
whingeing about the media had the opposite effect: the knives are on open display now.
he is toast.
That is absolutely fan-fucking-tastic.
SICK FUCKING BURN.
@6, I guess that just goes to show you why he needs to pay someone $5,000.00 to paint him up like a trollup in order to be presentable on TV.
For the first time in probably forever, I'm probably recording Letterman tonight.
It's time to end this farce.
This is the second time Letterman's been in the news about the presidential race in as many days. What's he slyly up to?
Dave could be a kingmaker.
@6 It's a frightening likeness to the Sandman from Spiderman 3
Dude, Letterman was *pissed*.
John Socialist McCain looks like he must have had a stroke he's trying to keep hidden from the American public.
That was my first thought when I saw him today.
Explains a lot.
We won't support spine-less NO-Bama and will re-defeat him in November !! Go Hillary 2012 !!
