Books Catch 22, Take 2

onHaaretz has an interesting story about how a brand new translation of Joseph Heller’s Catch 22 has climbed to the top of the Hebrew bestseller lists. The book has sold 15,000 copies in 2 weeks.
As an aside, a great Heller book that will probably never climb the Hebrew bestseller lists is God Knows, which is a first-person comic novel about the life of King David. There’s sex and puns and lively, pungent commentary about power and politics and sex. If you haven’t read a lot of Heller and you don’t quite get his allure, I suggest that one—you can probably find it at just about any used book store for a buck and a half.

I've always admired how well Heller bore up under the sentence of death proclaimed upon him by the rabbinical leadership in Israel after he wrote that book.
I wish I could read Hebrew to see how it translates. Catch 22 is my favorite book of all time.
I grew up a devoted Heller fan (read Catch-22 nine times in high school) and LOVED God Knows. Taught me all I ever knew and wanted to know about the Bible. I recommend it highly.
