Architecture What Must Not Be Done

onThis Wednesday, Aug. 20, the Sundance Channel will begin airing Architecture School, a six-part reality TV series about students who are helping rebuild post-Katrina New Orleans. The show focuses on 12 students in Tulane University’s design-build program, URBANbuild, as they conceptualize and construct a 1,200-square-foot house for a low-income family.Always do the very best you can to maintain a good distance between any kind of architecture and any kind of reality.

Look at those primitive White Devils and their 3D bullshit. Get a computer! Ha! Ha!
I agree, Charles. Architecture has nothing to do with reality.
architecture is our reality. where do you live, under a tree?
fact: architecture students design crap. i'm very glad i don't get the sundance channel.
What's up your butt on this one Charles? And what the hell have you done to help Katrina victims let alone anyone else?
Aww, isn't that sweet!
Young aspiring architects, dreaming of becoming filthy rich, building overpriced homes in New Orleans to make their GOP Mentors happy with how they got rid of half of the population that was too poor and too uppity.
It just makes your heart go pitter patter.
Excuse me while I barf.
I think this is my ultimate horror - having to watch on tv what I had to live through in school. NO THANK YOU.
And Will - you're kidding, right? Do you know any architects? We barely make the middle class cut-off. For every 1 rich "star-chitect" there are about a thousand actual architects barely making 50K.
You're a stone-cold idiot, Will. These homes are for a low-income family, not "overpriced", and certainly not for "GOP Mentors". Perhaps a university design-build challenge isn't the most effective way to house the displaced, but it's got these students thinking about the subject, which is a hell of a lot more than you've ever done, in the bloated colon from which your ideas on housing are expelled.
Charles is crazy, of course; reality is exactly the subject of architecture; but you are stupid and venal, which is worse.
1200 square feet - I lived in about one-tenth that when we were poor.
You can talk when you've had the same life.
I restate my true claim that that's what it all means in the end.
Just go and dive into the NO pop database and electoral implications if you don't believe me - or tell me how much of the money has been spent on flood insurance for the rich people and the $4 million a year (according to McCain) "Middle Class" instead of on REBUILDING REAL HOUSES THAT PEOPLE CAN AFFORD.
It's just a pity party so the ultra-rich and their comrades-in-arms the architects can feel good about what they've done there.
Always do the very best you can to maintain a good distance between any kind of Charles Mudede and any kind of reality.
Will, you're a fucking scumbag. And a moron. You're an insult to morons. Your grievance, which you don't even understand, is directed at the wrong people. But, since you know FUCK ALL about what Tulane is up to, you'd rather prattle on about your bloated bag of wind. You are a stupid, stupid, person.
"the reality of the building does not consist in the four walls and the roof but in the space within to be lived in.”
would all the architects please get back to work? those hours don't bill themselves!
& will @ 8: architects are WHORES for the ultra-rich, not comrades.
