This Wednesday, Aug. 20, the Sundance Channel will begin airing Architecture School, a six-part reality TV series about students who are helping rebuild post-Katrina New Orleans. The show focuses on 12 students in Tulane University’s design-build program, URBANbuild, as they conceptualize and construct a 1,200-square-foot house for a low-income family.
Always do the very best you can to maintain a good distance between any kind of architecture and any kind of reality.

Young aspiring architects, dreaming of becoming filthy rich, building overpriced homes in New Orleans to make their GOP Mentors happy with how they got rid of half of the population that was too poor and too uppity.

And Will - you're kidding, right? Do you know any architects? We barely make the middle class cut-off. For every 1 rich "star-chitect" there are about a thousand actual architects barely making 50K.

Perhaps a university design-build challenge isn't the most effective way to house the displaced, but it's got these students thinking about the subject, which is a hell of a lot more than you've ever done, in the bloated colon from which your ideas on housing are expelled.

Just go and dive into the NO pop database and electoral implications if you don't believe me - or tell me how much of the money has been spent on flood insurance for the rich people and the $4 million a year (according to McCain) "Middle Class" instead of on REBUILDING REAL HOUSES THAT PEOPLE CAN AFFORD.
It's just a pity party so the ultra-rich and their comrades-in-arms the architects can feel good about what they've done there.
