City West Seattle Barista Storms Project Runway!
posted by July 10 at 10:29 AM
onSlog tipstress Stephanie alerted me to the breaking news and ongoing coverage at WestSeattleBlog:
We mentioned this earlier in the middle of a multi-topic post—and clearly we erred in not making it banner news: Blayne the barista, who’s worked at Hotwire Coffee for 2 1/2 years, made it to the popular cable-TV reality show Project Runway and is taping now for the season that starts next month.
It is not a lie to declare this super-exciting.
(Thanks to WSB and Hotwire boss/shooter of the above photograph Lora Lewis.)

A local boy! Sweet. I hope his face isn't stuck like that permanently.
Wasn't this super-exciting a month ago?

How is this different than the last Seattle guy who went
E @ 3: Damnit, I even did a friggin' GOOGLE SEARCH for "slog stranger project runway barista" and got NOTHING.
Sorry for the repost, but I'm leaving it up for all those like me to whom this is news.
Non @ 4: It just is.
Where the fuck is JTC this morning? I need a barnacle fix, real bad!
hmm...a barista from Seattle. A little on the nose isn't it? Did they also get a firefighter from New York?
I realize this cycle of Project Runway was kind of thrown together on the fly before the show moves to Lifetime but why the hell haven't the contestants been announced yet? The show starts next week!
@5 - what's Google?
Is that the MMO where you create avatars to sit in gothy rooms to discuss Sartre with other pr0n fetishists?
@7 heh. Better than a web designer from Seattle.
@10 Don't hate bitch... I'll stab you with my stylus!
Guess this is the "peril" of multiauthor blogs.
Nonetheless, thanks for the re-link.
The REAL news - why hasn't the contestant list been OFFICIALLY announced? When we first heard the scoop from Lora, we went back and noticed that the preceding season's lineup had been announced more than a month ahead of time. Now we're days away and still no official word. Some suggest it's because Bravo's losing PR and wants to pretend it's not happening. Hmm. Now THAT sounds like a Slogvestigation.
