Enviro Another Slog Success Story

onYesterday I posted instructions for getting Dex to remove the useless phone books they left on our porches. Writes commenter Daniel:
I called and told them I had 100 books in my lobby. They’re sending someone over to pick them up next week. Sweet!
Again, the information you need:
Dex: (877) 243-8339, wait for the auto-bot to finish a short spiel, then press “1.”
Phone lines are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., CST. While you’re on the phone, tell them you’d like to permanently cancel phone book deliveries. They’ll take down your address and that, with the grace of God, will be the last call to Dex you’ll ever make.

who the fuck is this autobot?
One can also visit http://yellowpagesgoesgreen.org/ and enter their information to request to be removed from phone book deliveries. They will contact the various book providers in your area. It's kind of like a do not call list for phone books.
I signed up a few months ago, and noticed this morning that the neighbors have phone books on their doorsteps, but I don't
I use them to clean up the dog poo on the front yard, now that Seattle dog-walkers no longer get free plastic bags ...
Just called Dex myself. It should be noted that they will only do a pickup for 15+ books at a site. They also will only cancel phone book deliveries for an individual, so if you want them cancelled for the entire building, everybody needs to call and cancel separately.
Couple of guys in my building just started down the hall towards the front door of my office.
"No, thank you!" I said as one of them opened it. "We don't need those."
He asked for one of my business cards so he can show proof of attempted delivery.
Stupid phone company...
fools...what are you going to use for toilet paper after the upcoming Rapture?
fools.
Hey everybody! Will wants your phonebooks! Be sure to drop 'em off in his yard.
Any info on removing books from Verizon, Yellowbook, and anyone else dropping off these? I think Verizon will be coming out in September.
@7 - sure, my address is 543 E Pike Street.
Say Fnarf sent you.
Tracy - We at www.YellowPagesGoesGreen.org will contact all the publishers in North America with the "opt out" request that are signed up at our site.
Glad to read that Sonoazure is a happy customer!!
