Wallace?! Are you kidding me? If he were such a great receiver, we'd have stopped pretending he's a quarterback a long time ago.
Deion Branch is due for another great season and Nate Burleson is incredible. With reliable running backs keeping the Defense honest, we'll be ready for a great air game.
logan "major" payne will be the next young star of the WR corps. put this in an envelope and save for next fall.
REGULATORS!!!! MOUNT UP!
@1 Holmgren said that he wasn't using Wallace as a receiver because he was scared that he would be injured, and that there wasn't a good safety net for Hasselbeck if that happened.
Our front office are a bunch of morons; WRs drafted? 0
I'd love to see Seneca get more involved, but then everyone would copy me and get a #15 jersey.
i still can't believe the stranger is discussing professional sports. please stop it & return to disparaging all sports.
@4 Holmgren may have said that, but he's full of shit. I think they like Wallace, they recognize he's a great athlete, but he's too much of an every-position guy and not good enough at any one position.
Besides, he's too short to be a QB.
@7 - ok, we won't include you in the Green River Killers fan club for the Seattle footie team then.
As a lifelong Cowboy, I wasted years having Jones stashed on my keeper team promising myself that "this is the year he turns it around". If there was any team in the league thatw as going to sign him it was the Hawks. The only two good games Jones played in his career were against the Hawks and the Seattle fans are already used to rooting for a soft RB who hits the hole and falls down.
Have fun rooting for him this season, suckers...
I meant to say, "Cowboy fan".. I never actually played for the Dallas Cowboys.
@5
three receivers drafted from 06-07.
one rookie picked up in FA in 07.
they don't need more receivers.
young guns. mount up indeed.
@7 I simply scroll past all the Currently Hanging posts without bitching because they exist. Just Sayin'
chops, thats a sunk cost and should have no bearing in future decision making and assessed needs. if there is a hole in receiving why isnt that being rectified?
A receiving corp is only as good as the offensive line and QB. The QB is good and the offensive will be improved. I say go with the youngsters.
We upgraded the O-line, we drafted a tight end who can block and some monster redneck fullback who can also block, and we have the pieces for a decent two-back running game. As long as we're not going to be forced to rely on the passing game exclusively, I say give the kids a chance.
I agree about using Seneca at WR. If he's so talented, let him show us what he can do.
Engram will get what he wants. Good for him. With Jackson gone, Engram had a career year last year. Now with Hackett gone, the Hawks really need Engram to step up again.
manningham couldve been ours!
bellevue,
it's not a sunk cost. i'm saying there's no "hole" and they believe they've got a good group of young receivers. you don't need to draft at every position every year.
ruskell could be wrong, but we'll have to see.
Don't Fuckin Care.
