While I think we'll all agree no one ever thought Kason Gabbard was Nolan Ryan, I appreciate any using any excuse to post that photo. That pitch was high and outside. Sexson just freaked for no reason.
Oh man, thanks for posting that picture, Jonah! That was the best baseball fight I've ever seen: Nolan Ryan, beating the crap out of a guy young enough to be his son.

yeah really...the photos i've seen online show Gabbard in the fetal position.
Sexson=coward. that pitch was nowhere near him.

That really hurt! I'm gonna have a lump there, you idiot! Who throws a helmet? Honestly! You fight like a woman!

What @5 said. That's one of my all time favorite baseball moments outside of the 2001 playoffs.
This photo is the only reason I get drinks at Cooper's.
Pretty gutless for a 6-foot-7 guy to swing his helmet at the pitcher. If you're going to charge the mound do it like a man.
There were plenty of reasons that Richie freaked. Gabbard happened to take his place in the situation in the classic role of 'final straw'.
The other first-baseman news of the match-up: Broussard, designated for assignment.
I was watching the game on teevee last night.
richie made me lmoa - loved it! added a little excitement to a dull as game.
just a little good ol' retaliation for
f-her hitting the ranger.
looked late last night after the game for a slog post about this
but damn that was funny
I'm at the game tonight - hope they win for a change.
Roid Rage
Jonah, ?NO ONE ?will ever be Nolan Ryan except for Nolan Ryan.
Especially after yesterday, I'm loving the irony of "Sexson shoulda charged the mound like a man".
Men don't charge the mound or beat the crap out of each other. Shitheads do.
I long for the day a batter gets the brushback pitch, picks himself up off the ground, and "accidentally" throws the bat forward on the next pitch.
I wish I could see the path for the Mariners to turn it around, but this plain doesn't look like a team that has winning in them.
