Looks like the same artist that did the artwork for the Regurge parodies, like Mime After Mime.

One note crap. Shag has sucked forever.

aren't those indigenous peoples so kitsch?

Posted by Jiberish | May 21, 2008 11:23 AM

Oh Jen..does this really count as art?

Posted by Lloyd Cooney | May 21, 2008 12:51 PM

has its place but not really worthy of a "currently hanging."

sigh...Jen finally posts something about a Pop Surrealist artist and she picks the blandest, most derivative one of all.

Art fit for an issue of Playboy circa 1988.

That style only works outside of kitsch when it's original, from the 1950s-60s. Done today it can't climb over the wall of irony that surrounds it.

Dominant Paradigm. Suck it up.

@8 then its even worse art... it feels condescending. my main argument is about the fear. was that 'idol', do we know if it is an idol?, supposed to invoke fear. and, if it was what kind of fear. good fear/bad fear?

@10 -- it was actually meant to conjure rum-based cocktails, but I take your's crap.
