What the?

posted by on April 29 at 13:22 PM

Did T-Mobile’s entire network just go out? What is happening? And why all the sirens outside?

UPDATE: Seriously. Do you have T-Mobile? Try making a phone call. I would call T-Mobile but, uh, I CAN’T!

I'm at 20th and Madison - I was able to make a call, but everything was delayed. I called my home (yes, I have a land line), it took an extra second or two before the other line started ringing, and when my phone picked up and I entered the code to check my messages at home, it took a few seconds to switch to voicemail. Then it wouldn't accept my PIN code, even though my cell screen showed I entered the correct numbers. Strange!

No problems here. I lost network coverage once or twice yesterday on Capitol Hill but it came right back. I just made a call without any problems.

Also, in addition to #1... see:

A journalist(?) hears sirens outside, and his first thought? "I know, I'll post something online and ask if anyone out there knows what's going on!"

I can call out but I can't receive calls. My phone is a pitcher, it seems, and not a catcher.

Oh how funny - I've been sitting here turning my phone on and off, taking out the battery, putting it back in....thank god for Slog!
btw I've had no probs at all with T-Mobile at all, up until now.

I heard the sirens too, looked like a house fire around the corner form where I live.

Call 611, give them your zip, see if an outage has been reported. Pretty easy.

I'm on T-Mobile.

Outbound calls from Redmond work fine. Inbound calls are going straight to voicemail.
Retreiving voicemail works fine.

Dunno. I'm on T-Mobile, but I use my phone about once a week. I'll let you know in a few days.

My t-mobile service was out entirely for several hours (that I know of) mid-day. This is especially embarrassing as I can see the t-mobile headquarters from my home.

Yeah, I got a few "network failure" messages when I tried to make calls between 1 and 2pm.

Is this related to why I tried 5 WaMu ATMs downtown before I was able to finally find one that was working?

T-mobile here in SF just gave me a series of "retry?"'s. Seems ok now. They've been warning use this was going to be a big solar flare year. Who knows?
