These bastards are just trying to gentrify the Aurora Avenue neighborhood by driving out all of the affordable housing options for low income people! Once the government gets to deprive people of their five gallon buckets of feted brown water you know the yuppies are coming with their townhouses and condos!

the zoning is the problem.

the lots are too small to build regular residential. the lots are too shallow. the buildings crowd the street, there isn't any room for a decent setback, no bank will finance and no builder will build decent housing. so it's all auto oriented crap.

to fix it you need deeper lots that will allow setbacks and actual shallow u shaped driveways. to get the deeper lots we have to change the sfh zoning on the lots behind the shallow lots fronting on aurora. so they can be combined. then we can have nicer buildings instead of this crap that is built because we act like it's still a semi rural road to canada a la 1929 or something.

gotta change.

Considering city limits just north of there, and Shoreline's zoning codes, I'm not surprised we haven't changed much there.
