Who’s About the Past Now?

posted by on February 28 at 9:16 AM

John McCain is trying to wrestle the aura of future-ness from Barack Obama. I’m not sure it will work, but it’s an interesting gambit. Speaking about Obama’s focus on the errors that led to the Iraq war, McCain has now taken to saying:

That’s history, that’s the past… . What we should be talking about is what we are going to do now.

And Obama can just play all the tape of Grampa Munster joking about "Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran" and being serious about America being in Iraq for 100 years for more.

"Sure, I've been an ardent supporter of every dumbshit decision George has made for the last seven years, but why you picking on me? I'll only make the really good decisions, I promise!"

"Who's", not "whose". You're looking for "Who is" not possession.

What does McCain want to do now? Stop loss. Extended tours. Lower recruiting standards. Cancelled training. Debt. And body bags. Lots and lots of body bags.
