So why wasn't local kickass company grindline http://grindline.com not chosen?

These guys are setting the standard for how skate parks should work.

Newline does great work. Making some of the best, well rounded parks out there.

@1 you beat me to it. Why not hire a group many think is the best available, which happens to be located in Seattle? Instead, they build in every other town in Washington. I want something as handsome as Burnside in the middle of Seattle.

Oh boy. Lets build a skatepark in the worst possible location.

@1 & @4 You can't have a design/build team in the city so the thinking goes towards, hopefully, getting Grindline for the construction phase.
