Burlesque: Not Just for Grownups!

posted by on February 20 at 13:07 PM

You know a form of culture is here for good (and beginning the process of ossification) when they start doing kids’ versions: theater for kids, rock shows for kids and now—burlesque for kids?

The Von Foxies are putting on a kids’ cabaret. There won’t be any stripping, but someone who calls herself “the Naked Folksinger” is scheduled to perform.

burlesque and cabaret arent the same thing. neo burlesque is just stripping routines in old timey clothing.

People who perform burlesque are organizing a children's cabaret show. It sounds very nice for the kids involved. Don't make something lewd out of this this.

The naked folksinger is great. She comes out on stage naked with an acoustic guitar and awkwardly manages to cover up her naughty bits with it. The acoustic guitar hourglass shape helps.

Walking offstage presents a problem.
