And also via the Dept. of Exploited and/or Wildly Precocious Kids. (And, fundamentally, via Sullivan):

Parents who do this shit to their kids should be flogged (regardless of race or political persuasion).

The kid is cute, and can read his parent's screed pretty good for his age. But the parents are total doucebags.

"Imagination is more important that knowledge." Yikes. There's the Obama appeal in a nutshell.

@7: Oh, Big Sven. Obama's appeal owes just as much to his knowledge (taught constitutional law? check. talks intelligently about gov't funding and incentives for transit and the virtues of cellulosic vs. corn-base ethanol? check.) as his imagination. Argue with the big kids, please.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

His hands - is he lightfooting down there? Not a bad speech for such a little kid, all in all.

Cute, However, while I realize a teleprompter is probably not in the budget, maybe the cue cards could be closer to the camera lens?

We know he is reading something someone else wrote, you don't have to beat us over the head with the fact.

I suppose if it was too slick the cuteness factor would be diminished, but like I said, I don't expect a teleprompter, but more time looking in the general direction of the camera would be good.

Oh, well, I just went to Utube (after watching it in the box on the Slog) and I see he wrote it himself? if he did he is quite an impressive 7 year old. I was thinking before that a little rehearsal would have been a good idea, but didn't say it because I know kids have a limited attention span, but if he can write that I'll bet he could tolerate a rehearsal or three. I'd hate to agree with @2, but...
"You can tell by the video, you can't make a child do something they don't want to do and still appear so natural"

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

On the other hand, the speech is better than the video caption, so maybe the kid did write it, way to go Justin! (but McCain would probably beat Obama, so Clinton is still our best bet)
