Media Shit’s In the PI

onOur shit, to be precise.
This morning’s PI ran (off) with Josh’s story about the Mayor’s $5 million giveaway to Vulcan. Josh slogged the story last week, pointing out Deputy Mayor Tim Cies’ flip flop, and Ceis refused to call us back for Josh’s print version of the story, which we published early yesterday.
On the upside, the PI was able to get our chicken-shit Deputy Mayor to answer questions about the Mayor’s $5 million Christmas gift to local billionaire Paul Allen. On the downside, the PI swallowed for Ceis’s bullshit about how the Vulcan deal is comparable to last year’s downtown zoning guidelines. As Josh pointed out in his story, the facts demonstrate that the Vulcan deal is not comparable to the Mayor’s new incentive zoning legislation for developers citywide.

Actually, the original upzoning specifically did not include any upzoning for that area on purpose.
One major limiting factor is the sheer lack of power substations and generating capacity, not to mention services - schools (zero), fire (zero) - all of which are borne by other citizens of Seattle.
If Josh is such a good reporter, why aren't any of the large dailies knocking on his door? What's top pay at the Stranger?
It's easy to get beaten on 19 out of 20 stories, then take cheap shots at the dailies when you get one story before they do.
It's also boring and unattractive. Just do your fucking job and shut up about it.
The PI isn't wrong.
PI says the Vulcan deal is comparable to existing downtown incentive zoning. That is accurate. Josh wants Vulcan to meet proposed guidelines which haven't yet been enacted. He's right that Vulcan is not meeting the proposed standards, but they do appear to be meeting existing ones.
The fact is , Dan, the PI story is more accurate than Josh's little tirade.
@4 Argh, you people!
"That is accurate. Josh wants Vulcan to meet proposed guidelines which haven't yet been enacted."
Vulcan wants to meet building heights which haven't yet been enacted you fucking tard. (Yeah, I went to name calling.)
The fact of the matter is, the building heights weren't going to increase until the proposed incentive zoning was in place. So a just a lower case "fuck you, you disingenuous, vulcan-ass lapping idiot" @ #4.
Bah!!
Take your meds.
