Photo of the Chabad Seattle hanukkia (aka “menorah”) in Westlake Park taken last night, the seventh night of Hanukkah.
i have the chabad "happy haunakah" truck in my neighborhood. i once got a torah quiz by a chabad rabbi when i was walking my dog past their house on the holiday when you eat outside in a flat-roof tent.
fuck if i know, rabbi - i'm post-catholic!
We've got a rockin' menorah here in Ann Arbor, thanks to the folks who run jewmich.com. They're even sponsoring a Chanukkah Wonderland. Eat that!
Oooh, Issur's gonna rage when he sees that shit.
What's the big deal? It looks circumsized.
That's a really ugly menorah. Unfortunately, there's another just like it inside Northgate Mall. Fucking thing isn't even lit up.
C'mon, guys. You want to celebrate, don't half-ass the job of it, all right?
Regarding hannukiah, when religious Jews and Israelis refer to a "menorah," it refers to the seven branched menorah that was in the Temple. A hannukiah is used to specify the nine branched menorah used only for Hannukah celebrations.
Happy last night of Chanukah.
