Buy Your Way onto Slog

posted by on December 7 at 17:04 PM

We’ve just added a bonus item to the Strangercrombie auction, especially for you Slog fiends. Place the winning bid and you will be granted Slogging privileges for seven days. All proceeds go to FareStart, of course. (Thanks for the idea, Big Sven.)

You'd get higher bids if we were bidding for the right to ban Mr. Poe for a week.

I'll stick to the dark snickets of commentsville, thanks!

P.S. If Mr. Poe were banned, I'd quit reading Slog. Seriously.

Poe is awesome, every one of his posts would be NSFW though

If issur or ecce get the auction, we can just boycott their posts, except for one "Chirp, chirp. Chirp." or similar comment from Mr. Poe or Will in Seattle or elenchos.

And FareStart will have their money in return for *nothing*.

I'd love to see Poe with this. He's the Dark Prince of the Slog.

Jesus. $250 and I'm still being slapped in the face by some dickheads max bid. Might want to wait until Friday at 4:30 or so for this one.

I use Ebay so little, I didn't realize that above a certain $$$ amount you can no longer see the user names in the bid history. I liked it better last night when you could see who was bidding what. Go Poe! Go elenchos!

Um, gee.

For a hundred, hundred and twenty, bucks, I could say sure, that might be fun. And it's for some bleeding heart good cause or other. Puppies, I think. Which is great; I love the poor puppies too, same as you.

But now you're talking enough money for at least two full days of skidding through corners at Pacific Raceways. Can slogging for a week really be more fun than that?

24

Yes. But only $400, and only when you're as offensive as I am.

PS
I blame all spelling errors on blackberry.

Just wanted to say, this whole spendup is not me. Though I desperately wanted to be the guest poster, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would crack $400. Good for FareStart, bad for me (and Poe. And elenchos. And...)
