CLEARLY California Democrats want the terrorists to win.

They should do a recall of Feinstein and NY needs to recall Schumer. If these Democrats are incapable of standing up to Bush then all of them should face primary challenges.

"I'm not your bitch, bitch" California to Feinstein.

Is this the same woman who led the fight for banning assault weapons and voted against both of Bush II's Supreme Court nominees?

By the way, has anyone seen "Zeitgeist?" It's some amazing stuff about Christianity, 9/11, and our leaders in general. It's available online through Google video.

On second thought, I'm thinking Sen. Feinstein is a smart woman - and there's absolutely no incentive for her to cater to an unpopular, lame duck president. So...what does she know that we don't?

She is smart. But it is possible to be smart and wrong about torture. In the end, the problem is that Feinstein is too conservative for her state. As a Democrat from say West Virginia or Louisiana or even Oregon she'd be fine. But not from a true blue state like California.

You can not support torture in any way and expect to keep your job in government.

Sorry, she deserves this. And she deserves to be removed from office along with everyone else who voted to confirm the new AG.

First of all, DiFi has become the definition of a despicable, Beltway Democrat who has nothing but contempt for her constituents. Read Glenn Greenwald's excellent take-down here:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/09/23/feinstein/

This isn't just a difference of opinion; she’s supporting people who are dismantling and subverting our Constitution and system of government, as well as violating everything our nation used to (allegedly) stand for and basic human decency. Her husband is a wealthy defense contractor—that explains a lot!

Second, this whole censure plan is a little too high concept for most people to understand. I say they go with the ‘Toss Her Bullet-Ridden Carcass in the Ocean Somewhere’ option (don’t forget Lieberman!).

Now they just need to find some cement.

thank god. she sucks. democrats may have balls after all!

when she was mayor of SF somebody sent her a snake in a box, and to this day we still have a city-wide ban on constrictors and tarantulas as pets because of it. this whole mukasey thing just ices the cake. off with her head!

How does Feinstein continue to win votes in Cali? She was a popular mayor in SF, perhaps the most liberal city in the US (they almost elected a Green!) and she has won her senate seat without any challenge in the bluest state in the land. It is puzzling to me. She has always been a female Joe Lieberman.

Ohhhh, censure. Scary. I bet she's really shitting in her polyester pantsuit.

@6- I wasn't defending her. I was responding to Bauhaus's comment of "What does she know that we don't?"

And the reason she continues to win votes in California is because no one has launched a credible primary challenge to her.

California has changed greatly in the past 20 years and become more liberal. She used to fit right into California politics. Now she is more right wing than the Gubernator.

In fact, if I recall correctly, the last person to challenge DiFi (a Republican) came at her from the left instead of the right!

She has always been a female Joe Lieberman.

Or maybe she's the California Joe Lieberman.

Fuck sake, y'all sexist much?

"I'm not your bitch, bitch"
democrats may have balls after all!

And just as an aside --

‘Toss Her Bullet-Ridden Carcass in the Ocean Somewhere’ option (don’t forget Lieberman!)

I'm getting a definite "kill the dirty Jews" vibe here as well.

Oh right, because anytime someone criticizes a Jewish person it's because they're an anti-Semitic Nazi. Thanks for the input (eyes-rolling).

Oh right, because "toss her bullet-ridden carcass in the ocean somewhere," is just a straightforward political criticism and doesn't imply any violent intent at all. Thanks for being an ignorant cunt (eyes-rolling).

@17, but what do you do when your politicians betray both?

Um, Judah? You can't really cry sexism if you're going to follow it up with the line, "Thanks for being an ignorant cunt."

I thought Cindy Sheehan was going to run against Feinstein?

Posted by Fifty-Two-Eighty | November 13, 2007 3:51 PM

@21,

No, she's running against Nancy Pelosi, which is bullshit. Sheehan should set up her little protest camp outside Feinstein's house. (It would offer the additional benefit of pissing off my stepmother.)

@1, maybe you should learn about the other California senator before you start "bitch"ing about California democrats? Barbara Boxer is about as progressive as they get. I voted for both of them while living in CA, but Feinstein isn't who she used to be - it's sad & embarassing. Boxer, on the other hand, should run for president.
