Tacoma is Burning

posted by on October 6 at 18:24 PM

Is this why the sky is glowing yellow in Lower Queen Anne?

UPDATE: Seattle Sightings has some amazing video, which they’ve tossed up on YouTube…

I don't mean to exploit this tragedy, especially at this point in time when we have no idea what happened. Nonetheless, you are forced to admit that this sort of thing proves that everything I've been saying has been right all along.

"If you really want to help, say some prayers," saith an *official*.

Um - if you want to prevent this stuff put more faith in technology and less in gods (or goddesses, but they, sadly, seem woefully neglected among westerners who worship divinities).

As for Lower Queen Anne's yellow glow:

"All seems Infected that th' Infected spy,
As all looks yellow to the Jaundic'd Eye." (Pope)

I'm going to have to disagree with elenchos. Though we have no idea what happened, this sort of thing actually disproves everything he's ever said. Also, as it involves a closed highway, it discredits ECB as well.

You know, Dan, Andrew Sullivan was saying just today that you know blogging is addictive when you find yourself doing it on a Saturday in the midst of a holiday weekend. Looking at the time stamp on this posting adds credence to that argument. It's a cruel drug, isn't it?

The latest updates from Tacoma are in, and while they don't tell us what happened, exactly, or what caused it, one thing is clear: not only does it prove me right, the Tacoma explosion (if that is what it was) conclusively puts the lie to everyone who has ever disagreed with me. Big Sven in particular I think will be bound to admit the error of all criticisms he has ever made of my ideas.

While we should place the victims (if any) of this big event (whatever it was) first in our thoughts (I certainly do), it wouldn't be entirely out of line to review my many previous statements and writings to discover that in fact I predicted that this as-yet undetermined disaster was going to happen.

I do agree that if ever there was a time for ECB to retract everything she has ever said, the still-unfolding Tacoma uncertain event of some kind is certainly the time.

Well, Paul, I'm backstage at HUMP, I've seen every film a hundred times, and I have nothing better to do... but, yeah, addictive.

I didn't do it. Dan can vouch for me ;P

Message from Tacoma. The husband and I were in a coffee shop (reading The Stranger I might add) about 3 miles away from the explosion when the lights flickered and the huge plate glass windows started banging like someone was pounding on them. It scared the shit out of everyone.

It seems a bit creepy that everyone in that article is like 'It's no big deal. Stuff blows up there all the time.' Okay ...

The Tacoma Explosion changed everything. Harbors no longer protect us.

I wonder what the carbon impact is of 20,000 gallons of burning (exploding) propane.

Also, this disaster reminds me of PEPCON. If any of you want an alibi for my way of thinking, this explosion apparently resulted in sodium percholrate trickling into Vegas' drinking water. It was never cleaned out and remains in the water (and consumed by Vegasites) to this day.

Though we don't know much about this "accident" (if in fact it wasn't a clever attempt by certain elements within the Republican party to assure Hillary Clinton the top of the Democratic ticket), I think all of us except elenchos can agree that this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that cheap condos in West Seattle, straight bars on Capital Hill, cars, and the mere existence of the East Side are crucifying and incinerating all that we love and hold dear, and must be stopped for the sake of the children.

Well, it's nice to see Tacoma take this eminent domain thing as seriously as Seattle....

Hope the injuries aren't too bad.

The Sunday Times/P-I was just dropped at my door... Headline: "Elenchos Was Right" Subhead: "Slog Poster Takes Rightful Place in Leauge of Nostradamus"... "We don't know exactly what happened, or what caused it. But what we can be certain of is that I predicted it."

I'm sure this could have been prevented if they just had an effective night club policy...

So that explains why the sunset was purple and red and yellow and on fire and the clouds would catch the colors everywhere...
